Sequencing Learning Aim B

I have to make a piece for a holiday company called sandy beach resorts. I chose to do my piece on the Caribbean this is because I have some knowledge of the type of instruments that country uses in there music. I tried to use reason but it was far to complicated for me. I've decided to make my piece on cubase

So far the whole studio has been experiencing 'technical difficulties' so no one has done much of their project. This mean we are just doing research and finding out about the country.

I managed to get some basic notes down on cubase. But soon after this cubase crashed and wouldn't reopen again. I am not sure whether the files for my notes are still on the computer. The audio wouldn't work successfully and kept cutting out. I didn't get much done again :<

I added a simple drum beat that gets repeated over the whole track that lasts 30 seconds. I also started adding various instruments trying to find out what sounds the best for my piece. I ended up using steel pans

I mixed my piece so that some of the instruments were louder than others to enable you to hear all the instruments easily. I considered adding various other things such as panning and velocities. These things made my piece sound weird and distorted.

I tried using equalisation on my piece but I wasn't happy with the project after I added Eq so i reverted back to a version when I didn't have Eq put in place.

I finished my piece and exported it to a file that was smaller and can be viewed without the use of reason. Also I started to make my powerpoint and prepare for my presentation.

I added more slides to my powerpoint going over what I have included into my piece. I also had to talk about the things i didn't add to my piece such as Panning.

I finished off my powerpoint by adding images and other aesthetic items. I also tweaked some of the words, changing them to be more musical and I made sure the sentences made sense and the spelling was correct.

After a long time I have finished my piece and I am about to perform my powerpoint explaining what I've been doing over the past few lessons. (• ◡•)
